Nancy Asher is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Play Therapist, Certified Synergetic Play Therapist, and a Certified School Counselor. She is trained in Animal Assisted Counseling, with her poodle, Sofie, and in EMDR.
She has over 30 years of experience as an elementary school teacher and school counselor. In addition, she has clinical experience working with children, couples, and individuals.
She is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Arts in Education, an Early Childhood Endorsement, and a Master of Arts in Counseling. She is a member of The Association for Play Therapy and the American Counseling Association.
Nancy works with clients from a Neuroscience perspective to help them gain new insights and develop strategies that will transform their life. She uses multiple interventions, including the therapeutic aspects of sand, art, and play, to address emotional, behavioral, and relational issues. She offers a safe, nurturing environment that encourages healing, change, and growth. Living in San Antonio, Texas, she is married and has two children. She loves the outdoors and enjoys camping, and the beach.
